Welcome to the Magnum Blog

Dear colleagues and friends,

Magnum Photos is delighted to introduce the Magnum Blog, an online forum for discussing photography and photojournalism. The blog is a new medium for us to illuminate the stories behind the images, to explore the motivations behind the projects, to discuss the systematic issues that affect all photographers, and to explore the industrial and societal changes that inform our expectations of photography.

I am happy to see the new Magnum Blog online after so much work was put into it by many people!
I truly hope that it will proof itself as a wonderful resource for photographers, journalists, photo enthusiasts and everybody else who is interested in storytelling.
I am honored that I was part of the process in creating this blog and I am looking forward to many discussions that will arise around it, around the stories, photographs and opinions that are posted.

All the best,

What about an interview with Koudelka that goes beyond what is available in the Torst book?

This is wonderful news this new Magnum blog. And it's great that Martin Fuchs is here, too; his own Magnum blog was wonderful to follow.

I totally agree with Davin, an interview with Josef Koudelka would be tremendous (though I really loved the one he did with Hervé Guibert in the 1980's).

I would also like to hear more about Sergio Larrain, even if I know he is not taking pictures of people anymore.

Josef, raconte nous encore tes nuits à la belle étoile !

Merci

Finally. I get to read what Magnum photographers are and not just through their images. You'll have inspired me and influenced me with your images. Thank you and look forward to reading you.

Best,

Larrain
I have just been in Chile and someone told me that the only way to talk with Sergio Larrain about photogrphy is to enrole on his yoga class in Oralle and start talking to him about photography during this, and he is compelled to join in. This is what 2 students from Brazil did and had a terrific encounter.
I edited the photos for his book on London and went through every image, I ,together with Agnes Sire had some dialogue with him and he is delightfully dismissive of photography.
