"In the 1980’s, my wife and I bought a 75-acre farm in rural Ontario, Canada, where I was raised. [...]
Once I had my own front porch, I felt positioned in the world.

Most of the photographs in this exhibition were taken within 100 yards of this porch. Although I travel extensively now, it is still with a sense of exile. From Hanoi to Managua, from San Salvador to East Jerusalem and the Occupied Territories, the longing for home persists. Although a journalist must work in the arena of international events, when I am not travelling, I turn the camera inward”. Larry Towell
