Most prominent among the many African boutiques which line the Goutte d’Or neighbourhood in Paris is La Reine de Saba, owned and managed by Ms Awa Daabo. Recently she organised a fashion show aboard a barge on the river Seine, sponsored by the Kenyan Embassy. Models had to dress and make up in the narrow space on the barge. Then they did their catwalk, to the delight of the audience.

Respected British actor and filmmaker Richard Attenborough has died at the age of 90.
Though known for his acting roles in popular films like The Great Escape (1963), Jurassic Park (1993), and Miracle on 34th Street (1994) he made his greatest influence as a director and producer, most notably for Gandhi (1982) for which he received two Oscars.
